From a small team, comes an idea for an app designed to unite the residents of Vancouver.
Our team of four, set out to create a mockup of an app with which to create and foster community building. Through many meetings and hours of working together, each of us created three pages for our mockup as a sort of "proof of concept". After conducting and collating our research, each member of the group created 3 wireframes. Using our style guide, we were able to get our high fidelity mockups to be harmonious across the board.
Our Goal
By allowing users to attend and host local events, we aim to get people more integrated in the community around them. Searching for an event is easy in our app. By using a map to filter through events happening in the user's area, they are easily able to see what event is happening close to them. Users can also easily check information about an event and sign up to attend them. Through our straightforward create an event page, users will be able to create an event easily, with all the necessary information to get potential attendees interested.
I was responsible for the two calendar pages, and the create an event page.
Reflections
Our group gelled together really well. We weren't afraid to disagree with each other, and through this process, refined our designs. If something didn't work, we changed it. While we encountered challenges, we didn't let that stop us from moving forward. It was a pleasure to work together.
If we were to revisit this project, I would want to add more functionality to the prototype, and expand on the current screens we have, by adding a login screen and other pages.
